Michigan Trip - Day 2

The main reason we went to Detroit this past weekend was so we could attend the annual Woodward Dream Cruise. It is a one-day event where over 400,000 classic cars cruise up and down Woodward, a street similar to State street, with people all up and down the roads taking pictures, eating yummy food, and buying shirts. It was so much fun, even though we practically melted because of the heat. After a couple hours at the cruise we went to my old "hood", Redford. Every once in a while I try to go back and drive up and down the streets to see how much it has changed. It is so fun for me to look around and remember little things about my simple life back then! I should have taken a picture of my old house, but really didn't even think of it!

I usually try and attempt a visit to my dad's grave site when I am home, but because it is not very close to where my mom lives now, I haven't been able to. Since we were in Redford and the cemetery is up the street, we stopped! I have only been 1 other time and was really wanting Scott to go see it after we did the work for my dad at the temple last year. After FOREVER searching for it, thanks to my cousin Kristy, we found it!

It was a great experience for me and I am so glad everyone was supportive and willing to search for so long.

After Redford we went to my absolute favorite restaurant in the entire world...Panera Bread! Ahhh...the joy! We really need one here!

After we got home, we put Cam down for a much needed nap and I went with Lindsey to get a pedi! LOVE IT!

We had a little birthday party for Cam that night as well. There are a TON of pictures. Thanks Alli! After I sort them, I will post all about it!

Michigan Trip-Day 1

We arrived in Michigan on Thursday evening. After getting our luggage, taking a shuttle to our rental car, and getting a little lost on the way home (Southfield Freeway, not road!) we finally arrived at my mom's place at 10:30 pm. We were keeping the baby on Utah time, so that was perfect time, right before bed!

We got all settled in, visited for a bit, and all went to bed. Friday morning we woke up early and started the day with some shopping! This was really the only day to go, because we had so much planned the rest of the time. We stopped and ate at one of my favorite restaurants to visit, National Coney Island, feasted on the Hani special and cheese frys, then made our way out to the stores.

Later that night we headed to the Tigers game. We were able to meet up with some of my friends and had a blast. Here are some pictures...

On our way out we saw Paws (thanks for the name Rach!) Cam was pretty frightened!!

We left at the top of the 9th, it was zero to zero, and of course after we got out of the stadium and started walking to our car, we could hear everyone cheering...the Tigers got a homerun! Nice...Thanks alot guys!

Silly Boy

The older Cam gets, the funnier he gets! While I was feeding him before his afternoon nap he randomly pulls up one of his legs on the tray, waits, looks around, and pulls up the other leg. I was cracking up! He needed help getting back in position afterward, but I couldn't help but snap a shot. This boy makes me so happy!

Weekend Fun

This weekend we were super busy and had a blast! It is so nice to be busy on the weekends, to feel like you have gotten good use out of the summer.
At the beginning of the summer, Scott made plans to go camping with his friend Jon and with both of us having busy schedules, trips and weddings, this weekend actually worked!
We were so kindly invited to Stephani's grandparents place up in Midway. It was perfect! I didn't have to sleep in a tent with Cam and the others could set up their tents if they wanted.
We headed up Friday night and, after the boys went golfing on Saturday morning, we headed home. Here are some pictures...
We saw this beautiful rainbow in Park City during the little rainstorm. It was neat because we could see where it started and ended! And nope...no pot of gold found!

Playing in the yard. It was pretty cold but a few braved the weather and slept in their tents. The rest of us cranked up the heat a little too high and sweat our way through the night ; )

One of the perks of having a husband who works with the Grizzlies is that we can attend the shows/concerts at the E center. Scott had to work a booth during Cirque du Soleil Saltimbanco, and Cam and I were able to watch the show in the employee suite. We left after intermission because Cam was losing interest fast, and it was past his bed time. The hour that we were able to watch was amazing. Here were our favorite acts...

A women dancing with two Argentinian boleadoras -- a percussion instrument that consists of a weight attached to a cord -- which she spun above her head and at her sides that created an amazing beat.

Scott's favorite was the group of performers that climbed four poles that extended from the floor to the ceiling. They would hang, flip, slide, and jump from pole to pole. It was amazing watching all the things they can do!

Today we went over to Scott's parents to celebrate little Lauren's 4th Birthday. It is so fun to watch Cameron interact with his cousins. He just loves them so much and wants to be where ever they are.

Happy Birthday my special little boy. I cannot believe you have been here with us for 1 year! It has definitely flown by and has been the best year of your mommy and daddy's life. You are the most amazing little thing. You have such a fun, charismatic personality.

You LOVE pretending to be on the phone. Everything is a phone to you. The remote, the pin number pad at the stores, the brush, comb, pen...

You are starting to walk while holding on to our hands, and have this weird lean backwards motion thing.

You love going on walks and will babble quietly to yourself.

You are such a good "talker" and have become so loud. We love listening to you talk and express yourself.

You love to read. You will sit in your room on the floor with books everywhere. Your favorite book is A Cow Goes....Mooooo!

You love doing laundry. You get so excited when you see a laundry basket. You will always pull everything out and put them back in at least 3 times.

You are extremely sensitive. If you feel like someone you love is hurt or upset you get the biggest boo boo face and start crying. (It breaks and melts my heart at the same time)

You are hysterical to watch when you play trucks. Your Vrooom noise is so precious. You are such a BOY!

You love to brush your hair, and anyone else that will let you.

You have some killer dance moves, must take after your mamma! You wiggle your cute little wrist to any beat you hear.
