1 yr visit

I took Cam to his 1 yr check up. It went perfectly well and Cam did fantastic. I was a little worried, since his appointment was during his morning nap. He was happy and playful and showed the Dr some of his personality. He weighs 23 pounds, which I was surprised by because that's only a pound more than at his 8 month check up. He is starting to thin out and I won't lie...I am bummed! I like chubby babies. I don't want his thunder thighs to go away, I don't want to see his ribs, and most importantly, I want his cute little belly to pooch out when he sits! (Weird these are all things I wish on him, and pray will go away for me!)

I am happy to report he is taller too. I can't believe it. He is 31 inches! He was pretty tall when he was born, but has seriously sprouted since then. I was scared there for a minute he would be a giant. Now, we are just hoping he has interest in sports and will be a NBA star!

He vrooom vroomed for the Dr while playing cars and babbled a ton. The Dr said he should be able to say at least 2 words by now. He also said all food is game, but at about 18 months is when pickiness starts showing. MAN, I thought I was in the clear! Cam has never turned his nose up to any food offered to him...besides canned Mac and Cheese. Can you blame him though?

We can also start giving him whole milk! Yay, no more expensive formula. Lame story about the milk by the way. I was at Walmart (Sorry Jenny) searching high and low for the "whole milk" label. Actually walked up and down the isle 3 times!
I finally called Scott and said, "Umm is Vitamin D milk whole milk? It's right by the 2%."
I did not get the response I was hoping for...
"I don't know!"
Thanks to the kind lady buying eggs with her 5 kids who informed me YES Vitamin D milk is whole milk! OH MY GOSH!! I am as dumb as they come. I would like to also note, I have NEVER bought anything other than skim milk my whole adult life. Good excuse??

I can't wait for Sunday, my boy will be 1! I am sure I will be crying my eyes out as he shovels the cake in his face. Sugar high...here we come!

Pioneer Day floats

We went to see the floats at the South Towne Expo center on Monday with Jon and Rachael. It was really interesting to see how they were made and see them up close. They are huge! We had a blast and each got to vote for our favorites. Even Cam voted...of course the same as mommy...we think so much alike!

They had a great Bagpipe Band and dancers. I love the bagpipes!

Here is my vote. It was made all out of quilts! It was gorgeous up close. They will be donating the quilts to the humanitarian center as well as the socks used to spell out the name of the float. Can you see them? It's toward the bottom.

Cam watching the clown make something out of a balloon. We didn't wait around for her to make something for him. He would have put it right in his mouth and popped it with his chompers. This was Jon's favorite. I don't remember the title...

Cam lately

Here are a few shots of Cam I thought were so cute and had to post!
He was getting ready for a bath and I thought it would be fun to do something crazy with his hair. Here he is with a fohawk (spelling??) Pretty cute right?

Playing in the laundry. Clean Laundry. This is his favorite thing to do. He helps every time he sees a basket of clothes. He will pull each item out of the basket, throw it behind him, then put them each back in the basket. Repeat 3 times! Even when I have the dryer open and something doesn't get all the way in, he assists. It is so precious!

Warm River

Every year Scott's family camps at Warm River (in Idaho by Ashton) for a week. Last year my belly was ready to explode and I could barely sleep comfortable at home, let alone on an air mattress, so we skipped out. We were able to go for the weekend this year and had so much fun. I of course had anxiety the couple days before hand, preparing everything and worrying how Cam would do. I am glad to say he did well! He slept in his pack n' play and didn't even wake up during the first night. 2nd night...was a little different! He didn't seem to ever get in a really deep sleep and woke up to every sound. It didn't help we had a yappy dog in the site next to ours.
We can't wait for next time. Cam will be bigger and able to do more!

Warm River runs right through the site. It is so gorgeous and tons of fun to float down. I was a little nervous but let Scott take Cam down on the tube. He had a blast and went 2 more times!

I lathered that baby in so much sunscreen his hair was horrendous looking.

Last but not least, the packing up! Ughh that has got to be the worst part...besides unpacking once you get home. Here is Papa, Robby and Kailey trying to get all the air out of the tent.

Went to Cameron's first baseball game! He had so much fun and was such a good boy. Here are a few pictures from that night. We are going to a Tigers game when we go to Michigan in August and can't wait to see what Cam thinks of that!

I was driving to work today listening to some old CD's and this song was on one of them. Scott has always told me that it reminds him of me, but it wasn't until I really listened to it that I understood why.

This song really describes where I was in my life a little over 6 years ago. I knew something needed to change so I decided to pack up and move to Utah. I left my family, my wonderful friends and everything I knew. I left saying it would only be for the summer, just in case I didn't like it! I, of course, ended up loving it, and stayed.

I was scared and extremely homesick the first few months but was determined to stay and live on my own.
I am so glad I got out of my comfort zone...way out!
I have had the most amazing experiences out here and know my life is the way it is because of that big decision.
I have met some great people, made dear friendships, had the best roommates ever, had the most incredible Bishop in my singles ward (next to Scott, he is the most amazing man I have ever met), I have gone places I never would have, and most importantly, I have learned to be independent!

I miss my family everyday and wish they were closer. I miss my friends and am thankful our friendships have survived the distance.
I am so grateful I was given this opportunity, to have met Scott and be married for eternity and have our own little family.
Yay for moving on!!

11 months

We are one month away from my little BABY turning 1 year old! I cannot believe how fast time goes by when you have a child!
Cam is growing and changing everyday. He is a master crawler and enjoys getting into EVERYTHING! Whenever we go into another room, with in seconds we hear a panting baby crawling as fast as he can to get to us.
He is now weighing in at 23.5 pounds. Not sure on the height. When we go for his 1 year appt we will find out.
I cannot wait to stay at home again and be there for all the milestones that are going to take place! 1 more week!!!
