4 months

I cannot believe my little boy is 4 months old today! It has gone by so quickly. I can't believe at this time 4 months ago I was in the hospital with Cameron. I have learned so much about being a mommy these past few months. I have learned to love in a way I didn't know was possible. I am so grateful for my little man and the happiness he brings to my life. He is changing so much everyday, doing something new all the time! He learned to laugh a couple weeks ago, although I have not witnessed this in person, just over the phone. He has yet to really giggle for me! He has learned to do these loud squeals when he is happy and getting kisses, its hard to know if he is mad or excited. He is constantly on the floor grabbing his feet and turning on his side...I know he has it in him to flip one day! He is really liking tummy time and pushes himself up to look around really good now. He loves his toys. He likes smiling to strangers. He is just a happy, loving, baby. He is amazing.

This is the outfit my mom bought for him. It is size 6 months, what do you think...a little too small! He is busting out of it. I think he looks funny. Scott wasn't amused while I played dress up.

BCS, Here We Come..........Again!

I know, I know, the game was an entire week ago. I'm sorry. We have been trying to post these pictures all week, but our computer has been giving us trouble. Get over it.

So, I figure that, if you don't have tickets to one of the state's biggest sporting events ever, watching it on leather furniture in front of a homemade 120" screen is probably the next best thing! This past Saturday, as I'm sure most of you already know, the Utes completed yet another perfect 12-0 season by hammering BYU 48-24. We all had a blast watching the game at Jon's house. We had people over and ate tons of food. Since Jon and I recently came up with an awesome way to make Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches, our original plan was to make those for everybody. Then we thought that the idea of having everybody make their own personal pizzas sounded pretty fun. So, we decided to combine the two ideas and ended up making Philly Cheesesteak Pizzas. And, I must say, they turned out pretty dang good! Anyway, it all turned out to be a lot of fun. And, of course, we were super stoked that the Utes won. They played amazing. Max Hall is lucky that he only threw 5 interceptions, it could have been a lot worse.

It will be exciting to find out, in the next week or so, which bowl game the Utes will go to.

Cameron Update

Kim, thanks for the idea to write some things that Cameron is doing these days. I know my family would appreciate more frequent updates... Sorry guys ; )

1. He is smiling SO much. He is so happy and loves being with Mommy and Daddy. He is such a Daddy's boy and watches Scott leave or come into the room. I can tell he is about to start laughing...I cannot wait!

2. Cameron loves to babble. He is such a precious talker. I just want to eat him up. He is super vocal and just coos all the time. In the mornings, Scott will be getting ready for work and will hear Cameron in his room just talking away, not even crying to get up. He loves to look into your eyes and talk with you when it is quiet. The other day I had him in his swing and he was just non-stop ohh-ing.

3. He is liking tummy time a lot more, especially in the mornings. He is getting the hang of looking around while on his tummy, though he is not into rolling over yet. It will come with time!

4. He is growing so quickly! I just went through his closet to store things away that are some 6-9 month clothes. I will be saving the outfits though!

5. Cameron still likes being wrapped up like a burrito for bedtime. I am a little worried about this habit. He is a really good boy and sleeps well, ever since he was 6 weeks old, but crys a little if he becomes unwrapped in the middle of the night. The swaddle blankets are too small for him, so we use just a thin one from the hospital and he has outgrown it! You can't burrito a baby in a thick blanket. I was thinking of just buying a piece of fabric and wrapping him, but I want him to be able to sleep like a normal boy! What should we do?? We tried putting him to bed unwrapped just under blankets and he woke up 4 hours later. We gave in and wrapped him up like he enjoys and then he was fine. Will he out grow this on his own, or do we really need to buckle down and just let him cry it out? (I hate that!!)

6. He is a great little cuddle bug. He loves cuddling for naps and enjoys just being loved on. We are constantly smothering him with loves and kisses.

7. He is really starting to be more social with strangers. In church, he was really into the people behind us and smiled to their baby a lot. He even made noises to them!

8. He loves to eat his hands. His trademark move is to jam all but his pinky finger into his mouth and just suck away! Sometimes he goes too deep and gags himself! So funny to watch.

9. He has discovered that, not only does he have two hands, but he also has two feet to play with. Whenever he is on his back, he pulls his feet up and holds on for dear life. He is just so fun to watch as he curls himself into a little ball.

I am so very grateful for my little guy. He has brought so much joy into our family. I am so grateful he is a good baby and is so easy. My love grows for him each day. I cannot wait for all the other new things he will be doing pretty soon. I truly cherish every smile, boo boo face, babble, kiss, lick, and hug.

Announcing: Grandma Bennett's Birthday Bash!!

As many of you know, Grandma Bennett was on vacation during her birthday this year. But, we don't want that to keep us from celebrating! So, we've decided to throw her a party. Well, maybe 'party' isn't the right word, more like a get together with the family for some fun, cake and ice cream. Ah, who are we kidding here, any time at which a large group of Bennetts are in the same place at the same time is definitely a party! So, please come wish Grandma a happy birthday and join in on the fun. Date, time and location are this Saturday, November 8, at 6:00 pm, at Steve and Penny's house in Centerville. Halloween

Hope you all had a great Halloween and no one suffered a candy overdose!

We had fun. We went over to Scott's parents and took Cameron around the circle with the other trick-or-treaters . Cameron was exhausted because I had dragged him around the whole afternoon to Scott's work, then mine in his cute little costume. He was out cold by 7.

Back to Work

So, this week I am going back to work. I am very grateful I was able to work something out with SelectHealth, and will be working just 16 hours a week. I don't have to go back, I want to. I obviously don't want to go back full-time because being with Cameron is the most important. I think 16 hours will be just enough! It will be nice to get a little break and give Scott some alone time with the baby. I will miss Cameron terribly while I am gone, but know he will be well taken care of. I will working 2 evenings a week from 4-8 pm, Scott will have Cameron then, and a full day every Friday while Scott's mom watches him. I know she will do a fabulous job with him and he will be just fine. But, thinking of it gets me a little anxious. I don't want to be annoying and write down every little thing he likes/dislikes. Like how and when he likes to cuddle, how he likes to lay on the couch with you, how to get him to let out a good burp, and how he likes to sit up on the couch and talk. I know she will figure all those things out on her own! Wish me luck! She may not want to be my babysitter after the first Friday!

Cam is doing great. He is growing so quickly! I know I say that every time, but really it is just amazing to me how grown up he is. He gets in these moods where he just wants to talk. He looks right at you in your eyes and just coos. It is my favorite! He really thinks he is talking. Sometimes, when I am cuddling him and not looking at him, he makes his noise to get my attention, I look down at him and he smiles! He is so cute. I love this age and am sure it just gets better and better!

Oh, and I am happy to report that he now sleeps from 9pm-8am!!! Another 1 1/2 hours is fine with me!
