Big Brother

The next morning was so much better. Cam was feeling better and was excited to see baby Ali. He was in love with her and couldn't stop touching her.

I couldn't stop snuggling him!

Baby Alivia

At the last minute I decided I wanted Scott to come with me to my last Dr appointment. I wanted us to both be there to talk the Dr. about the induction planned for Friday. Boy am I glad he was there!
The Dr. examined me and I was dilated to 4+ and was 90% effaced. He said everything was favorable for me to be induced and he felt I would deliver pretty quick once things were started. We made plans to be induced the following day, Thursday. The doctor then left the room and I got up to get dressed and...... my water broke right then and there! Man, I wish I had a video camera attached to my head so everyone could have seen Scott's face. It was so hilarious. He was shocked, scared and creeped out all at once. We cleaned up and let the Dr. know before we left that my water had broken. As calm as could be, he simply said, "Ok guys, see you at the hospital!" Inside I was freaking! (it's about 10:15 am)

I was pretty miserable the last few days before she arrived. I prayed so hard everyday that it would be THE day. I would go to bed every night angry at the world that she wasn't here and that I was still sleeping with a bowling ball in my tummy.  Then I would wake up each day with new hope that today would be the big day. Repeat for 6 days. Ehhh.
So you would think when my water broke I would be so happy and jumping for joy. Nope. I had a stomach ache and was fretting!
We ran to go get Cam from Scott's mom and came home to get all we needed. We didn't tell Cam we were having Ali because we wanted him to not worry while we were away, especially because we weren't sure how long it would be. Robby came over to be with Cam and Lady met us at the hospital.
We arrived at the hospital around 11:00 and got all situated. Once I settled down and got into the bed I had a horrible contraction that scared the life out of me. I was crying and begging for the epidural. Yep, judge me! One contraction dilated to almost a 5 and I am a screaming baby. It didn't help either that the Dr. said that he felt I would go fast with this delivery. All I could think about was them not getting me the meds in time and I would deliver natural. Worst. Nightmare. Ever.
After some more crying and fretting I had my epidural.
Hence this smile:

I was so relieved and content. I was playing around and joking with the nurses and even surfing facebook. I could have sat there all day.
The nurse had checked me again and said that I still had a sac of water that had not broken and that it would probably hold up my labor until it broke. They didn't have any doctors there to do it and mine wasn't going to be coming to the hospital until 5:00. They gave me some pitocin to help labor and see if contracting would break the water. It didn't.
5:30 came along and my Dr was nowhere to be seen. Another Dr had just delivered another baby at the hospital so they asked her to come in and break my water. She checked me and before she broke my water she warned the nurse that it would probably squirt and that we needed more protection on the bed. The Dr, for some reason, decided sitting at the foot of the bed was the best position for her. Imagine a water balloon the size of Texas popping. That is exactly how it sounded. It went everywhere and got on the Dr.  SICK! Scott was dying again :)
By this time I was dilated to a 10 and they were rushing around trying to get the room ready and paging my Dr to hurry and get to the hospital. My epidural bag needed to get replaced around this time and the nurse said she didn't want to give a new one and have me be charged for it when I was just about to have the baby. Sounded like a good idea to me.  The Dr came in and in 3 minutes I pushed baby Alivia out. I still can't believe how quick it all went. With Cameron, I pushed for almost 2 1/2 hours and feared the same for this delivery. This was a piece of cake!

So...the sweet nurse that wanted to save me money was great...but I should have gotten a refill on those meds. I felt a little too much of the actual delivery and aftermath than I had ever wanted. Once again, I was a blubbering baby!

After we got situated in our room, Scott went to go get Cameron around 9:00 pm. Cameron was feeling a bit under the weather (low grade fever) and could tell something was going on because we weren't with him all day. He was happy to see her but more happy to be with Daddy.
Everything went so well. We are so grateful for our sweet baby Ali and for the wonderful, easy delivery we were able to have. She is the perfect addition to our family.

Wheeler Farm

A couple weekends ago it was so nice out we decided to go to Wheeler Farm. Cam has been a little obsessed with singing Old McDonald lately and was asking to see all the animals he passionately sings about.
(I need to get it on video btw. It is the cutest thing ever!)

He loved the roosters in the parking lot. I love this picture of him trying so hard to smile with the bright sun. Sunglasses the rest of the day for him!

See? Cute sunglasses huh?

He loved this horse and could have stayed here the whole time. Good think Gramy was feeding it so it stayed so close.

Cam was being the biggest stinker at the end of the day and wouldn't take a family picture to save his life. This is as good as we got. Unless you want to see the one where he refused to turn and face the camera so I made him moon the camera. It's a cute booty!

First day of spring...in Utah

Last week there was finally a day where the sun shined and it didn't rain or snow. Scott is between semesters, so we actually had one night when all of us were home together! So, when Scott got home from work, we decided to head to Sugarhouse Park and have a picnic. We of course needed to feed the ducks too!

Cam was ecstatic the entire time just to be playing outside and enjoying the fresh air. He is a summer boy and loves to be outside all day. He couldn't help but roll around on the blanket and play rather than eat.

He of course enjoyed feeding the ducks. I think since it was the first "real" nice day of spring, everyone and their brother went to feed the ducks, because these birds were not eating! Cam didn't seem to notice though.

Sitting in poop. Wonderful!

I just love this picture. I love this park and especially love the Wasatch Mountains. They are so gorgeous!

This poor little guy... He and his dead friend had been gently moved by a good samaritan out of the road. He was so sad and mourning the loss of his friend. He was even a little injured himself and refused to eat. You could walk right up to him and he wouldn't move. Broke my heart.

Easter Sunday

We have church at 9:00 am and struggle to be there on time on a regular Sunday, so thinking of doing Easter baskets before church seemed impossible. We must have talked up the Easter bunny pretty good before bed because Cam was awake by 7:00 am. I couldn't resist and let him go on his search for his baskets (one from the bunny and one from Grandma Mia) right when he woke up.
The bunny hid a basket in the dryer and we hid Grandma Mia's on the baby swing.

Here he is so excited to open them!

Bubbles!

A weird wiggly thing from my mom.

Here he is with his Easter outfit on. Such a handsome little guy!
Cam is so lucky to have grandparents that love and spoil him. He had a basket waiting at Gramy and Papa's too! 3 baskets total! I'd say he enjoyed this day!
He called Grandma Mia to say thanks and insisted on calling the bunny right after to say thank you too!

Eggs Galore!

Saturday night we went to Scott's parents and colored Easter eggs. Cam had so much fun and did so good. He loved everything about the process and was a pro at cracking the eggs while dropping them in the cups of dye.

Daddy and Cam made a special one for Ali!

Easter Egg Hunt

This year we took Cam to an Easter egg hunt in Farmington. We have never been to an egg hunt the community puts together and didn't know exactly what to expect, besides eggs with candy of course.

There were a TON of people there!!! They had the kids broken up into age groups and had the little kids, 0-3 years, go last. That meant waiting a little over 1/2 an hour in line before we were able to start.
That's a long time for a little one to wait, if you ask me!

Scott and Cam "patiently" waiting.

They led us over to the the tennis courts where they had hundreds of eggs spread out. We had to wait another 15 minutes for everyone to line up around the sides. Another hard thing to ask a 2-year-old!
Cam did really good waiting and not touching, but asked 100 times if it was time yet.

Charge!! He ran in the middle skipping over tons of eggs.

He filled up his basket and was so excited to see all the eggs he collected. He loved all the candy and prizes.
This was a great hunt and I will go again next year, but will plan on getting there a little later and hopefully cut some of the waiting time.
