Airplanes

Brian has been wanting to take Cam to the airplane museum for a while, so we finally loaded up and went. I am so glad we did. Cam loved it! It was a super hot day, so Ali was not digging the adventure. She was pretty fussy and made the day a little hard for me.

This was my first time at the museum and I was amazed at the all the airplanes they had out and how large they all were. It was so neat to be able to get so close to them.

Yay to a fun, free field trip!!

Quick St. George Weekend

Scott is an awesome husband and got me tickets to see Grease at Tuacahn for my birthday. My birthday is in February and waiting until August to see the show seemed like it would never come. Amazingly, it did.

We were only able to stay in St. George for one night, so we had to make the most of this trip. Scott doesn't like Grease (Is that even possible??!! And how are we married?) so it gave me the great opportunity to go with a girlfriend.  I invited my good friend, Kimberly, that I haven't been able to spend much time with because of our busy lives. I am SO happy she was able to work it out and come. I'm betting she was too because she had a kid free 36 hours and some much needed girl time.

Scott's family was actually in St. George the same weekend, seeing Little Mermaid on Friday then heading to California on Sunday. It was great to have them there to help Scott watch the kids while I was at the show. (They swam at the hotel. No pictures.)

No trip to St. George is complete without hitting up Don Pedros.

 I love this picture (sorry Kimberly, your eyes are closed and my hair is a blowing mess) it shows how awesome Tuacahn is. For my friends/family at home that have never been here before, it is an open air amphitheater surrounded by gorgeous red rock. It's amazing and everyone needs to go!

 

Did I mention that Scott was an awesome husband? Not only did I get these tickets and a mini trip, but we had FRONT row seats. It was great to sit up front and see all the costumes and characters up close. Thanks Honey. Good job!!

After the show, which by the way was SO SO good, we were able to take pictures with the actors.

The next morning we headed to breakfast...

Kimberly headed home and we headed to the splash pad.

Cam loves it here. It was super hot and the water helped cool him down.

It looks like Ali didn't like the water but the sun was in her eyes, hence the near crying face.

Ali and I hung out in the shade. We still were both sweaty by the time we left. Ehh I hate the desert.

Ali did better than expected on her first road trip. She slept through the awful Utah County construction and started to get upset when we were just 10 minutes from home. Well done, bug.

Cam did fabulous, as usual. He is such a perfect traveler and makes every adventure so enjoyable.

Ali's Blessing

We blessed Ali while my mom was visiting. Scott did such a great job! I am so proud of him and appreciate all he does for our family. It means so much to me that he is a worthy priesthood holder and is able to perform these special blessings for our kids.

We were lucky to have our friends and family come as well. Thank you everyone for coming out to support us. We love you!!

Also, a BIG thank you to Lady. She made Ali's dress and worked so hard on it in preparation for this day. Ali looked gorgeous in it and I LOVED the dress!

Cam sure loves his sister. He kept saying she looked like a princess in her dress. He even once referred to her as a queen. So sweet!

It got pretty hot that day, so I stripped her down after all the pictures. She seemed happy about it. And my goodness, she looked so cute!

I didn't get any pictures of just Ali in her dress that day. Not sure why....so I will be dressing her up again soon!

Cam's Birthday

Since my mom was in town for Cam's birthday and because she is such an awesome grandma, she wanted to do something special for her little boy.

I found an awesome deal on this inflatable slide, so we rented it for the day. Cam was SO happy. We kept it a surprise, which was super hard for me, and video taped him seeing it for the first time. He loves inflatable slides whenever we are at a community event, so knowing that this was just for him and his friends made him one happy little boy.

We invited our friends over to enjoy it with us during the day and had family over that night for Cam's favorite dinner, along with cake and ice cream.

It was such a great time and I know it made Cam feel so special. Thanks, Mom, for always wanting to do these things for the kids. We appreciate it!

It was able to be used wet or dry. We chose wet!  The water was cold but it was a great way to beat the heat and the kids (and adults) loved it.

It was sure funny to watch the kids slip and slide at the bottom trying to get out.

It started to get dark and cloudy toward the end of the night. Then it started POURING rain. We had to gather everything up quick to make it in the house for presents.

Happy Third Birthday, Cam!

Well, my boy, another year has passed and I can honestly say that they seem to get better and better.  Each day, you find a new way to make me laugh, make me proud, or simply allow me to see life from a different, more gratifying perspective.  Watching you grow has become one of my most abundant sources of joy and, for that, I thank you.  I am so grateful to be your dad and I could not be more proud of you as my son.  I could not ask for anything more.  This year, you have become a big brother to your sister Ali.  In just a short time, it became clear that you were meant for this role.  You have shown so much love and respect to her in ways that I never thought possible by a boy your age.  I see, in you, great potential and glimpses of what the future holds for you as an ongoing example for your siblings and as a father to your own children.   You are so drawn to people and have a way with connecting with them on such a personal level.  This is a clear gift that you possess and I hope you can continue to use that for good in life. 

I love your fascination with rocks and sticks. I love your willingness to help out around the house. I love our shared daily cravings for a nice, cold Orange Bang. I love to hear you sing along to songs from the back seat of the car. I love to hear you pray. I love that you're always up for a good road trip. I love your passion for life. I love that you always want to race. I love laying with you in bed. I love holding your hand. I love your happy dance. I love when you sing to Ali. I love being your dad.
