Back to Work

So, this week I am going back to work. I am very grateful I was able to work something out with SelectHealth, and will be working just 16 hours a week. I don't have to go back, I want to. I obviously don't want to go back full-time because being with Cameron is the most important. I think 16 hours will be just enough! It will be nice to get a little break and give Scott some alone time with the baby. I will miss Cameron terribly while I am gone, but know he will be well taken care of. I will working 2 evenings a week from 4-8 pm, Scott will have Cameron then, and a full day every Friday while Scott's mom watches him. I know she will do a fabulous job with him and he will be just fine. But, thinking of it gets me a little anxious. I don't want to be annoying and write down every little thing he likes/dislikes. Like how and when he likes to cuddle, how he likes to lay on the couch with you, how to get him to let out a good burp, and how he likes to sit up on the couch and talk. I know she will figure all those things out on her own! Wish me luck! She may not want to be my babysitter after the first Friday!

Cam is doing great. He is growing so quickly! I know I say that every time, but really it is just amazing to me how grown up he is. He gets in these moods where he just wants to talk. He looks right at you in your eyes and just coos. It is my favorite! He really thinks he is talking. Sometimes, when I am cuddling him and not looking at him, he makes his noise to get my attention, I look down at him and he smiles! He is so cute. I love this age and am sure it just gets better and better!

Oh, and I am happy to report that he now sleeps from 9pm-8am!!! Another 1 1/2 hours is fine with me!

Changes and Cheesecake

Cameron has officially outgrown his bassinet. He has started sleeping in his crib this weekend. Such a big change! I bet it was harder for me than for him. It is sad he is no longer in our room but... a good thing. He did a fabulous job and slept just like normal. I wonder if he has even noticed. He is growing up so quickly, I can't believe he is almost 12 weeks.

Also, this weekend, Erin and I went to Cheesecake Factory. Yum Yum! I got the Chicken Salad Sandwich and it was delicious! Erin got the Chicken Tostada Salad...lets just say the chicken was good but the salad had a green leaf that did not agree with her, so she politely sent it back and got the lettuce wraps. Much better! We shared the Adam's Peanut Butter Cup Cheesecake, which was FABULOUS! Try it next time you go! I brought home the White Chocolate Raspberry one for Scott...that was good too!

Question? Why are creepy men allowed in the fitting rooms at Victoria's Secret? Half naked women trying on bras and such...you open the door to show your friend... and the guy gets a free show! They should only be allowed in the actual fitting room with their "friend" and be blind folded through the shameless display of Victoria's Angels.

Worst Day Ever

So, after an enjoyable lunch on Monday, while walking from the restaurant to our beautiful car, we see this.....

Can you believe it???

Someone hit our car and didn't even have the common courtesy to leave a note! And this is no small scratch or dent, this is serious stuff! What makes this story even crazier is that a couple weeks ago, Scott was sitting in the drive-thru line at Hogi Yogi and someone, leaving a nearby store, backed up out of their parking spot and smashed into the side of our car. So, just days after fixing that dent, then this happens! What is this world coming to? Apparently, people now have eyes in the back of their heads and also believe that they no longer have to take responsibility for anything they do, as long as nobody sees them.

On a lighter, happier note, Cameron is fabulous. He is 10 1/2 weeks old now and is so perfect. He went to his 2 month check-up and is growing so fast! He weighs 13 lbs 10 oz and is 26 in long! He is off the charts in is height. He got his shots, which I think is horrible to give to a cute baby, but think it's better than having one of the awful diseases they prevent. He did amazing! I left the room because I cried when he got his Hep B shot at 2 weeks; thought Scott would do a better job. Well, just standing there listening to him cry from outside the door made me cry! What a baby I am!!! It was heart-breaking. I thought for sure he would be fussy the next couple days and possibly have a fever like they warn you...but he didn't! He was his normal self! We are so blessed to have such a healthy, happy baby. He is always smiling, cooing, eating and pooping! He sleeps like a champ, from 9 pm to 6:30 am with no interruptions, unless he unwraps himself (easy fix though!).

We love him so much and think he is the most precious little boy in the world!

Here are a couple pictures of the little one. He is doing fantastic! He is growing up so quickly and is a blast to be around. He is smiling all the time and is such a morning person like his mommy.
He is 2 months now! I am anxious to see how much he is going to weigh at his doctors appointment next week!

Blessing Day

This past Wednesday, the 17th, we had the opportunity to bless Cameron. Everything turned out really nicely and Cameron looked so handsome in the outfit Grandma Rosemary bought for him. Afterward, we all visited and had refreshments. I've just got to give a shout out again to those strawberries and that amazing dip! I couldn't stopping eating! Anyway, it made for a really enjoyable evening with everybody.
We really appreciate those who were able to come. I know it was a hard week for many. So, thank you to all who sacrificed to be there and support us. We were also happy that Grandma Rosemary was able to fly in from Michigan for the week. It was fun for her to meet and get to spend time with Cameron. He had a blast with Grandma!

Baby Blessing Date Change!

As some of you may know, we were originally planning to bless Cameron in our ward on Sunday, September 14th. However, we have run into a few snags with family coming in or going out of town that weekend. Long story short, in order to ensure that everybody we want to be there can make it, we have decided to hold the blessing on the evening of Wednesday, September 17th. It will be at 7:00 pm at the same location (1250 South Main St. in Bountiful). Refreshments will be served afterward and everybody can visit and get caught up on things. It should make for an enjoyable night. Sorry for the last minute change, but we hope to see you all there!

Falling in love

Being a mom is harder than I thought but is getting easier everyday. Scott has done a fantastic job at being a dad from day 1 and I have learned so much from him. I am so grateful to have a fabulous husband that spends so much time taking care of his family. We love you Scott!
