Sibling Love

Cam absolutely adores Ali and has to be in her face ALL the time. It is super sweet but sometimes it is hard to keep reminding him that she can see him better if he isn't touching noses with her. He is the biggest helper when it comes to anything Ali. He is always willing to drop whatever he is doing if Ali needs her binky. He hates when she is crying and tries comforting her,

"What's wrong Ali bugs? You want me?"

"It's Ok Ali bugs, Mommy is making your milk."

In the car, "It's Ok Ali, we are almost there!"

"Oh No. You want your Gramy, Ali?"

My most favorite thing he has started to do is sing I Am a Child of God when she cries. One time she was crying and he just busted out the words and she completely calmed down and watched him. Now, anytime she sheds a tear he starts singing it. It's so cute.

I appreciate how concerned he is with her feelings and how he wants to help soothe her. Cam is so in love with Ali and always wants to be next to her. Since she is more alert now and can actually see more clear, she loves to look at him. He gets so excited when her eyes are open and can barely contain himself if she looks at him. He claps with excitement in the morning when she wakes up and she is always the first one he kisses before bed.

I hope they always share this sweet bond. I want them to know how important family is and how important it is to always have a strong relationship with each other.

Tough life!

Notice her thin hair on top? She was born that way. Thick, gorgeous hair in the back and barely visible on top, just like Cameron had when he was born. Well that thin hair on top.. it's not there anymore thanks to....ME! Ahhh. I was scrubbing her head because of her cradle cap and realized her bald spots shortly after. I was devastated. She barely had any on top to begin with, then I made her look like a 90 year old man with a horse shoe hairline. Needless to say, she has become very familiar with headbands and flower clips. I have stopped scrubbing and have finally started seeing small pieces of hair growing back. Bald pictures coming soon. (If I can get myself to post them)

Bountiful Car Show

We took the kids out to the car show in Bountiful last weekend. Cam loved the cars and had to be reminded a few times that we can't touch them!

Ali loved being outside, as did Cam. It was a great day to be out and eat some yummy watermelon.

Alivia's newborn pictures

The amazing and wonderful Karina (This is linked, but not showing up. Just click on her name.) took Alivia's newborn pictures when Ali was just a week old. We love them and can't wait to put them all over the house!

Now the hard part. Picking one for the birth announcement.

First week home...

Thankfully, Scott was able to take a week and a half off of work and help us get situated at home. I am SO glad he was here with me during the transition. Having a new baby and a toddler is hard! I'm a naturally emotional person, but combining that with pregnancy hormones, sleep deprivation and guilt makes for a hot mess!

I had a really hard time not being able to give Cameron the attention he was used to. He has done extremely well with Ali being here and has been completely loving and accepting of her since she has arrived.  I am so happy and proud of him for that. I can just tell he sometimes is aware of the lack of attention he gets and it breaks my heart. He is my love and for him to not feel like he is Mommy's #1 makes me feel so bad.

The first week brought on many tears for me, but things have gotten so much better. Now, if I could just learn to have more patience with Cameron when I am tired!

Cam is always in her face loving on her.

He is constantly kissing her and wanting to be right next to her. He always says how much he loves her and compliments her about everything.

"Nice dress Ali. Are you a princess like Rapunzel?"

And today, my favorite so far, "Cute face Ali bugs!"

Scott's favorite was during the first week when Cam was still a bit under the weather.  We were trying to encourage him not to get too close to Ali.  Once, when we reminded him while he was leaning in to give her a kiss, he protested, "But I love her so bad!"

He is such a great brother and I am so glad I get to be at home with the both of them. He adores her and takes such good care of the both of us. Cameron is always willing to help me if he knows it is something for Ali. Their connection is amazing and has been since the moment they met. I can't wait to see him with her when she gets a little older and is able to play more.

Welcome Home, Ali!

We were so excited when it was time to bring Ali home. Cam was so happy to finally be home with his baby sister. He hasn't left her side once since we have been home.

Although he was excited to get home, Cam will miss the hospital bed and watching shows!
