The Circus

We decided to take Cam to the circus! I was trying so hard to win tickets from a bunch of different blogs, but I never won. I never win anything.

I need to be like Anna. She wins everything. And I mean everything. Her list includes, but is not limited to...trips to Disneyland and every concert in the state of Utah. You love her and hate her. Mostly love though!

Scott was able to get a pretty good discount on tickets at work so we splurged and went. We were lucky enough to go with some great friends too. Thanks for coming Andy, Kim and Campbell!!

My camera did not work well in the arena. I was a bit disappointed. I was also having camera envy with the lady sitting in front of me that got some GREAT shots. I wanted her to friend me on facebook so she could tag me in her pictures. Didn't happen though.

Here is an elephant before the show started. He was painting and being precious.

Since I couldn't get good far away shots I let my camera take it easy and stuck with close ups.

Pretty sure any function we go to, Cam has to have popcorn. It is his absolute favorite treat.

Campbell was digging it too.

Cam has not stopped talking about the circus since!  Every time he wakes up he asks about the elephants. Anyone that says Hi to him will hear a quick response, "See Elephants!!"

(He told a Walmart lady today about it.)

He loved the elephants, tigers and motorcycles. He has the vrooms and roars down pat.

By the way, those motorcycles in the big ball are just amazing! I was more anxious watching 7 of them driving in the ball than the 8 tigers surrounding the circus man.

Wow!

Elephant Parade

We were able to go to the elephant parade today at the gateway mall in preparation for the circus that is in town this weekend. Cam has been so excited to go and woke up this morning begging to leave.

It was raining on the drive over but stopped right when we got there and was nice the rest of the time. It was wonderful, besides the wind.

The police officers handed out signs, stickers and clown noses as we walked in the mall.

Cam loved it! The nose didn't stay on well though. Every time he smiled, his cheeks would pop it off!

Not sure why Cam liked the nose so much...they smelled gross inside.

Cam loved everything about this parade. He waved to everyone he saw.

This guy on the horse stopped right in front of us and said hi to him.

I think this was Cam's favorite part of the parade, besides the elephants.

The little ponies were so cute. They had another interesting creature too...I'm not sure what it was though. (Tracey? Kimberly? Do you guys know? The one with the big horns...)

I think we waited on the street longer than the whole parade lasted, but we still had so much fun.

Cam was a little sad at the end. He was just getting started and then it was over!

Utah State Fair 2010

Growing up, my mom took us to the State Fair every year. I LOVED going. In my mind, nothing compares to the Michigan State Fair. I loved riding all the rides, especially the pirate ship at night. I loved all the ghetto people that would show up. I loved the creepy "carnys" that ran the rides. I loved, and still love, the elephant ears, definitely my favorite fair treat.  I even loved all the stinky animals.

Utah State Fair?......Ehhh.

It was still fun though. I want to take Cam every year like I had the privilege to do. That means...USF will do!

Cam loved it. He loved all the animals and was so excited to touch them, but when it came down to actually touching them, he would only do it with the tips of his fingers. Getting that close was a bit more intimidating than he thought, but he did it all with a smile!

I was awful at taking pictures this year, but here are a couple that I got.

We took Cam on his first ride this time too. The Tilt-a-Whirl. He loved it! Seeing him laughing and smiling so big during this new experience was amazing. I am so glad we did it. He cried when the ride was over and begged to go on again.

"I want try again!!!"

Scott took him down the big  yellow slide. Again, " I want try again!!!" as SOON as he reached the bottom.

This is how slow my camera works in the dark. 

I swear there were at least 10 seconds between the time I pressed the button to the time my camera actually took the picture.  So, instead of getting a shot of Scott and Cam on the slide,  I got a crystal clear view of this guy! (That is not them in the background either. This guy walked right in front of them.)

Last, but not least, is Cam and Grandpa on the cars.  After the Tilt-a-Whirl and the big yellow slide, Scott thought Cam wouldn't be too impressed with this ride.  The cars simply go around an oval track with not much more action than that.  But Cam loved every second of it!

I want to remember

I want to remember Cam just like this, 2 years old, my favorite age so far!
There are so many things he does each day that just make me smile and I adore every moment we spend together.

Must Remember Memory #1:

One day we were just hanging in the living room and I was trying to pick up. One of his spoons was on the floor by the couch and I asked him to pick it up and put it in the kitchen. He was so obedient and said in his cute little voice...
"Oka Momma!" and ran to the spoon. He then walked over to the kitchen and laid his spoon "in the kitchen".

I couldn't believe he had done that, I was laughing so hard! He just set it down and walked back over to the living room as proud as could be. I appreciate his help so much. It wasn't in the kitchen like I had wanted, it was better!

Must Remember Memory #2:

Cam has recently started signing. He LOVES listening to my primary CD in the car and is obsessed with the song "I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints". We have to listen to it every second we are driving...on repeat! Super fun (for him). Ask anyone that rides in the car with us...

Cam has also recently started to express fear of certain things. He doesn't like walking into the house when it is dark outside, he will make us carry him in.
(He is not afraid of the dark when we put him to sleep though. Hmm?)
He also is aware of bugs and gets scared easily. Partly my fault, I know, because I scream quietly when a bee flys by me. But he seems to point out any bug that comes our way and says, in the most adorable way,
"Scawee bug mommy!"
I reassure him he is safe, especially since he is with mommy and daddy. One day when he was telling me he was afraid, I told him one thing he can do to make himself feel better is sing a song about Jesus.
"Oka Mommy," he responded.

A couple days later, he got afraid of a truck he heard outside and ran up to me and said,
"Scawee Mommy. Big Truck. Sing I belong!"

I couldn't believe he remembered what I told him about singing and chose to sing that song. I was so proud of him and my heart was gushing. He is such a good little boy and strengthens my testimony constantly.

Cam, You are just amazing! I adore your face and every word that comes out of your mouth. I love you!

What I will miss about summer...

Oh how I love these little piggy's. 

I will miss the tan lines.

Blog Book

I have been meaning to post about my blog book I had printed earlier this year because it is just so fabulous and I am in love with it!

Blogging is such a fun thing. I love reading what is going on with others and seeing their lives through pictures. I love that I can post my own pictures and thoughts and have them all in one spot. I also LOVE this site...where I can print it all, in a book!

I am not a scrapbooker. I could not put together an awesome looking page to save my life.

I am a picture taker though, especially of my baby boy.

This book IS my journal. It is something that we will have forever that has so many memories and pictures.
I have decided we are going to print one every year. It definitely adds incentive to post more often!

The site is so easy to use. You just type in your blog address and it uploads all your posts in a couple minutes. You can add pages, delete posts you don't want in the book, pick a cover, decide the format you want, then 'click' and you're done!

These pictures don't do it justice, so let me know if you want to see mine.

Upper Stillwater Camping Trip 2010

This weekend we were able to go camping.....FINALLY!

We took Cam camping when he was younger, but he was too young to know what was really going on. This year was so much fun, because he really got it and loved every second of being outside.

We got to use Scott's Father's Day present finally too. Let me tell you. The hinge door is life changing, people! You need a tent? Get this one!

It was pretty cold at night and the wind was blowing so hard. The rain fly was so loud it kept us up all night. Scott and I slept maybe, 2 hours the whole night. Cam woke up super early too, so we all just laid in bed and talked until it was daylight. We checked the time in the car, it was 7:30 am.

 (I hate not knowing the time when I am camping!)

We came home early because we didn't want to attempt another night like we just had. I'm glad we did because I heard it was SUPER cold the night we skipped out.

We left around 8:30, after dinner and dutch oven peach cobbler, and got home around midnight.

There is usually a big reservoir there for fishing and canoeing, but they drained it recently so it is very shallow.

Cam had fun throwing rocks in the water, it's one of his most FAVORITE things to do.

We were in cow country for sure. They whole drive past Heber was full of cows.

They even roamed our campsite! Numerous sitings. Every time Cam saw them he would freak out and say,

 "I want to ride!"

"I want to touch!!!"

We had such a great time and loved the memories we were able to make with Cameron. Next year though, we are not going to put it off this late in the year when it is cold!
